Uniforms
Just as the ensemble's sound is important, so is the ensemble's appearance when in performance, dress rehearsals and touring. A uniformly, neatly outfitted ensemble is essential for a truly artistic experience. A couple of rules for all singers:
- Appropriate concert dress and grooming are a requirement for participation in a performance
- Shirts are to be tucked in
- No obvious make-up, cosmetics, jewelry, earrings, accessories, watches, etc.
- Singers must have their hair pulled back, away from their face
CONCERT BLACK FORMAL UNIFORMS
How an ensemble dresses for a performance is very important! A choir who comes onto stage well-dressed shows a respect for their audience, reflects personal pride, and seems to say “something special is going to happen!” For the majority of our NMCCC performances, the singers will wear their “concert black uniform”. The goal is that the choir will look uniform so the attention of the audience will be on the music!
What is the Concert Black Uniform?
The NMCCC concert black uniform is black (not dark grey) from neck to floor. Singers and families are free to choose the components of their concert black uniform within these guidelines:

What is NOT to be worn on Concert Day?
