Accepting new K-4 singers in January 2022
The NMC Children’s Choir is accepting new singers in January. Students in Kindergarten through grade 4, who love to sing and want to improve their abilities, are invited to participate in NMC's award-winning Children's Choir program.
Overture and Prelude Choirs are NMCCC’s introductory program for Kindergarten (Overture) and 1st Grade (Prelude) boys and girls. This non-auditioned group meets Tuesday evenings for an 8-week session. In Overture and Prelude, young singers have the opportunity to learn about their voices and learn basic singing techniques in a friendly, nurturing environment.
Dolce Choir is a unique, non-auditioned, beginning singing experience for boys and girls in 2nd and 3rd grade who love to sing, are willing to work hard, have the maturity to work in a large group for a sixty-minute rehearsal and want to improve their abilities.

- Rehearsals at NMC from January 17 to March 1 on Tuesdays, 5-5:45 p.m. (Prelude) or 6-6:45 p.m. (Overture).
- Directed by veteran NMCCC and TCAPS instructor, Jamie Moreland.
- Tuition is $100.

Dolce Choir is a unique, non-auditioned, beginning singing experience for boys and girls in 2nd and 3rd grade who love to sing, are willing to work hard, have the maturity to work in a large group for a sixty-minute rehearsal and want to improve their abilities.
- Basic singing, music reading and performing skills.
- Quality song literature for children’s choir.
- Rehearsals at NMC from January 17 to April 26 on Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30 p.m., and monthly Saturday rehearsals.
- Performances in February and April.
- Directed by veteran NMCCC and TCAPS instructor, Todd Vipond.
- Tuition is $160.

- Children in 3rd grade may enroll in Dolce without an audition but are encouraged to audition (see below) to ensure that they are placed in the most appropriate choir.
Auditions for new Bel Canto singers (3rd-4th graders)
Auditions for new Bel Canto singers will take place January 10, 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the NMC Fine Arts Building. Schedule a 5-minute audition by calling the NMC Extended Education Office (231) 995-1700. (Offices reopen on January 4, 2022)
